BRP-Rotax: SPECIAL RACING EVENT FOR RVVS-WINNER

Gunskirchen, July 7, 2022 – Continuous improvement is part of every strategy-, quality-, lean- and production element at BRP-Rotax. The Rotax improvement suggestion system – short: RVVS – offers the employees attractive and especially sustainable opportunities, to contribute and implement their ideas, in order to live continuous improvement.

As a thank you and also as a little motivation the most creative and innovative improvements will be awarded with their own event: This year the journey went to Wackersdorf, Germany, to a racing experience of a special kind.

It was on the 24th of June, after a one-year corona-related break, so far: For 11, of 24 RVVS annual and creativity winners from 2020 and 2021, the day was all about powersports. On the kart racetrack in Wackersdorf, they were one of the first BRP-Rotax Employees to test the powerful Rotax Project E20 racing e-karts.

On site the colleagues of the Rotax Kart Business had already prepared everything perfectly and after a detailed instruction they got on the racetrack. During a short rainy phase the race got relocated into the indoor-kart hall. But this did not detract from the fun and the good mood, because the drivers could test different types of karts. Lukas Franzl, group leader in the assembly, was truly impressed: “It was a really special experience for me, since I drove a racing kart for the first time. On the racetrack, I was able to experience the torque and power delivery of our Rotax e-powertrains, which is certainly in no way inferior to conventional combustion engines, at up to 130 km/h. In total it is a great Rotax product and an ideal field of application for an e-drive!”

Also, Christian Artelsmaier, Industrial Engineer CCK, was excited about the event. “The weather god meant it relatively well with us (oder had mercy with us?). Great event, as always it was fun to drive a product from Rotax. I was simply overwhelmed by the performance of the e-karts, although we were still a long way from the possible drive power. With heart and brain – no accidents and no damages on the carts – we have enjoyed a great driving experience!” A brilliant dinner above the rooftops of Passau formed the ending of an eventful day!
