BRP-Powertrain: Change in top management

Gunskirchen, Austria, February 6th, 2014 – As of January 1st 2014, BRP-Powertrain GmbH & Co KG has appointed Thomas Uhr as its new general manager. He succeeds Gerd Ohrnberger in this position, who has been nominated  to the Board of Management of BRP in Canada.

Thomas Uhr brings with him long experience in diverse management positions. The Engineer, who was born in Hachenburg, Germany, graduated from the University of Aachen with a degree in Production Technology Engineering (specialization in manufacturing). He started his career at Mercedes-Benz AG in Stuttgart, Germany. For his next position, he moved to Canada, where he accepted a Director Manufacturing role with Ballard Power. Returning to Germany in 2001, he took over various executive responsibilities at Daimler AG in the fields of powertrain. 

Thomas Uhr has a broad management expertise in Development and Production. In the past, he  also proved great skill and sensitivity in dealing with management responsibilities. As Vice-President of BRP-Powertrain, Thomas is now in charge of a successful and innovative company with 1.100 employees. “I will be actively engaged in further development of the strategic orientation of BRP-Powertrain as an innovative provider for premium powersport vehicles”, says Thomas Uhr.

In his private life, the manager is married and has two sons. His family will follow him to Austria in summer.
