BRP-Rotax Vienna GmbH, based in Kottingbrunn near Vienna, is a subsidiary of BRP Holdings (Austria) GmbH with a focus on the development of electric powertrain systems.
In the company group with BRP-Rotax in Gunskirchen, highly qualified experts work together on the electrification of BRP Powersports vehicles of the brands Can-Am, Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo. State-of-the-art electric engines, inverters, hardware and software are being developed for the toughest conditions on land and water – on the way to a more sustainable future in the world of powersports.

OUR FIELDS OF ACTIVITY
We develop electric vehicle powertrains. This includes the development of e-motors and the development of associated inverters. For the inverter, we develop both the hardware and the software. During development, we rely on system engineering in order to be able to capture the complete drive in all its requirements. Our development also includes system testing, where we develop our own test environment.
OUR METHODS
We work according to established processes with agile approaches, constantly looking for improvement. Powerful tools in numerical simulation and CAD support us. This enables us to cover the entire electric drive starting from concept to series transition.
We develop electric drives for vehicles consisting of e-motor and inverter. We cover the entire development of electric drives, this includes coordination of vehicle requirements, concept development, architecture definition, detailed design, implementation, integration and verification.
Our range of tasks includes the development of power electronics, control electronics, basic software, functional software, safety concepts and e-motors. To this end, we rely on our expertise in multi-disciplinary simulation, model-based development and system engineering design.
From development, we have multiple interfaces to a wide variety of suppliers, to purchasing, to internal production, to test houses, to partner companies, and to the vehicle. We organize ourselves into project teams with clear goals and tasks.
We have created an environment in which we enjoy working. We use powerful tools that allow us to develop competitive drives. To ensure that our products can withstand the toughest requirements, we test the physical limits through simulation and verification. We align our test environment and tool landscape according to optimal aspects.
We are proud to have both generalists and specialists in our team. To be able to develop an electric drive as a mechatronic system, you need the combined forces of different disciplines. For us, the focus is on people. Interdisciplinary cooperation beyond our own boundaries is one of our strengths.
