ROTAX PROJECT E20

With the high performance racing eKart Rotax Project E20, the further development of the Rotax THUNDeR eKarts introduced in 2017, BRP-Rotax is taking further steps towards e-technology. Designed by BRP-Rotax specifically for the use on conventional kart racing tracks, the Rotax Project E20 eKart is easy to use and requires little maintenance.

With its top-performing electric power pack, the Rotax Project E20 eKart is a premium-class product. Equipped with the latest high-performance lithium-ion batteries, it has a maximum output of 24 kWh. This innovative racing eKart does not fear any comparison with karts with internal combustion engines. The Rotax Project E20 eKart has a top speed of 135+ km/h.

The Rotax eKart products are sold by the RIC TECH GmbH, a subsidiary of BRP-Rotax GmbH & Co KG based in Gunskirchen.

Lynx HySnow

In 2020, we celebrated a special milestone in terms of sustainability with a true lighthouse project: In February, after four and a half years of research and development, we presented the world's first emission-free, hydrogen-based snow vehicle, the Lynx HySnow, as part of the FIS Ski World Cup in Hinterstoder.

The HySnow project was funded by the Climate and Energy Fund as part of its "Lighthouses of E-Mobility" program and implemented in cooperation with HyCentA Research GmbH, Fronius International GmbH, Graz University of Technology, the Hinterstoder and Wurzeralm ski region and ElringKlinger AG and ECuSol GmbH.

Especially in winter sports areas, the reduction of noise and pollutants as well as the use of renewable energy sources are a constantly growing topic. The snowmobile, which is powered by an electric drive with hydrogen fuel cells, is also embedded in a true hydrogen ecosystem: the central core of the project is a refueling system that generates green hydrogen for the vehicle right next to the slope. Despite the corona pandemic, an intensive test phase was carried out under real conditions. This confirmed the safety and reliability of the innovation, which is why the Lynx HySnow including a hydrogen filling station has been in real operation in Hinterstoder since January 2021.
