With action-packed technology through the summer vacation: BRP-Rotax childcare a complete success

When mom and dad are working, the summer vacation can be quite long. Not only for the parents, who have to organize job and childcare, but also for the kids themselves. BRP-Rotax therefore supported its employees with a special vacation program: At the RIC, children could discover natural sciences and technology in a playful way and at the same time immerse themselves in the exciting world of BRP-Rotax.

In August, BRP-Rotax employees again had the opportunity to take children to their workplace, where they were looked after by educators from the Regional Innovation Center (RIC) and the Upper Austrian Family Association. For two weeks, 33 children between the ages of 4 and 14 were guests at the company.

Space probes, robots and lots of manual skills in the training workshop

In addition to exciting excursions, such as to Hörsching Airport or the Schmieding Zoo, the main focus was on technology. As part of RIC2School – a NAWITECH workshop program especially for children – the young guests were able to demonstrate their skills in building and programming "Milo, the space probe" with LEGO WeDo 2.0, operate a real robot ("MiR") and create their own keychain in the TECVan.

In the training workshop, the children delved even deeper into the world of BRP-Rotax: Craft activities such as soldering and filing, the control of a collaborative robot or even exciting races on the kart simulator were further highlights.

Initiative as a cornerstone of the BRP-Rotax CSR program

As an important cornerstone of the company's CSR program, the BRP-Rotax vacation care program 2021 was once again a great success. During the school year, childcare can usually be organized well, but during the summer vacations it is challenging for many parents to combine work and family well. With this initiative, BRP-Rotax would like to actively support its employees and at the same time introduce the children to the world of technology with an exciting program. This way, they can experience mom and dad's workplace up close and full of action.
