ACTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN THE COMPANY RESTAURANT

No more disposable plastic packaging!

A considerable amount of plastic packaging has been saved in the Rotax company restaurant. That's around 7,000 pieces every year. This is thanks to an idea of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. So-called take-away boxes made of plastic were previously available to take away food. These were converted to environmentally friendly “bagasse” packaging. The special thing about it is, that these are made of recyclable material, so they are sustainable and contain no plastic. Even soups, salads and main courses can be transported in the “bagasse” packaging. In addition, employees were made aware of the need to take their meals with them in their own reusable packaging.

 

ROTAX SAVES 650,000 PLASTIC CUPS ANNUALLY

Active environmental protection by saving on disposable plastic cups

Around 650,000 disposable plastic cups are saved annually at BRP-Rotax. This is thanks to the team that is involved in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental protection. Recyclable paper cups have been used for coffee and water throughout the company since mid-2019. The employees are motivated to use their own cups and bottles at the drinks machines. With these measures, waste could be avoided. Before the changeover, around 3,000 plastic cups were thrown away every day.
The BRP-Rotax CSR team is taking this success as an opportunity to take further measures to avoid plastic waste in the future.
