Full throttle toward an apprenticeship: BRP-Rotax organizes sixth "Long Night of the Apprenticeship Workshop"

From robotics to 3D printing and system control to go-karting and flight simulators: for the sixth time, the Regional Innovations Center (RIC) in Gunskirchen opened its doors to 210 young people and their parents, giving them exciting insights into the wide range of apprenticeships at BRP-Rotax during the "Long Night of the Apprenticeship Workshop".

Gunskirchen, November 14, 2022 - After a two-year break due to COVID-19, the time had come again last Thursday at the Regional Innovation Center (RIC): the "Long Night of the Apprenticeship Workshop" took place for the sixth time. Young people interested in an apprenticeship at BRP-Rotax experienced a varied evening under the sign of technology and convinced themselves of the advantages of a vocational training at BRP-Rotax.

Experience the Rotax apprenticeship at first hand

Turning, milling and soldering took place: Hands-on, those interested learned more about the various apprenticeships at ten stations and received exciting insights into their work from the current BRP-Rotax apprentices and the team of trainers. A special highlight was the kart and flight simulator, where all powersports fans could step on the gas. Many visitors left the training workshop not only with new knowledge and insights, but also with a self-soldered Christmas star for the Christmas tree. A complete success, sums up Werner Lehner, supervisor of the BRP-Rotax training workshop: "The Long Night of the Training Workshop gives families the opportunity to get an impression of training with us outside of school and working hours. In addition to the diverse program, the direct exchange with our apprentices is especially helpful for the young people, because who better to explain everything that is part of the daily apprenticeship routine than our young talents themselves."

Powersports career with varied apprenticeships

For more than 55 years, BRP-Rotax has been offering young talents an apprenticeship in eight professions: Mechatronics (main modules Manufacturing Technology, Automation Technology, Alternative Drive Technology), Motor Vehicle Technology (main modules Motorcycle Technology, Passenger Vehicle Technology), Metal Technology (main modules Machine Construction, Machine Technology), Process Technology as well as Aircraft and Materials Technology, Information Technology and Industrial Management Assistant.

High-quality apprenticeship training is a key success factor for the company: Around a quarter of all employees and almost a fifth of managers started their careers with an apprenticeship. The modern Rotax apprentice workshop provides the ideal environment for them to develop and master their apprenticeship in a technical profession. In addition to the regular training, special apprenticeshipplus modules focus on the personality development of the young adults. In addition to outdoor training and apprentice exchange programs with partner companies in Austria and abroad, courses on labor law, first-aid training and apprenticeship pay seminars provide plenty of variety. While new apprentices work on the basic Matura modules during their first year of apprenticeship, BRP-Rotax also offers support for the entire Matura.
