BRP-Rotax: Innovative Powertrains for recreational vehicles and kart sports

Tomas Andor presented the company BRP-Rotax and gave the participants insights into the development of Rotax 2-stroke engines for snow mobiles and karts. In addition to a brief presentation of these engines, there was also a focus on the technical peculiarities of their application in different terrain, e.g. snow and race tracks.

Engines for power sports vehicles require special ideas and are very specific in their development. Tomas Andor, Manager Development Mechatronics, presented the BRP-Rotax company at the HTL Steyr in the context of a lecture series of the Austrian Association for Automotive Engineering (ÖVK), and gave insights into the technical features of the engine development for the powerports and racing sectors.

The specialist audience of industry experts, university professors, university and HTL students listened to the topics with great interest and then discussed the exhibited vehicles and rotax engines with BRP-Rotax experts as well as the differences to the automotive industry.
