BRP-Rotax and Rosenbauer cooperate in modern fire fighting technology

Powerful and extremely light is the new generation of Rosenbauer portable fire pumps. The engine of the Rosenbauer portable fire pump FOX S already comes from BRP-Rotax. The successful cooperation of the two companies now starts after the development of the FOX S with the new FOX for a second time. Presented are the two new portable pumps with Rotax engines at the exhibition "Retter" in Wels.
The new FOX is powered by a Rotax 900 ACE engine, which was originally developed for Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles. For the use in the portable fire pump the Rotax 4-stroke engine with three cylinders and 900 cc has been calibrated and readjusted. Rotax motors have proven themselves under various conditions and ensure that the new FOX portable fire pumps can also be used in extreme situations.
The Rotax 900 ACE is due to its light weight, its low consumption and its compact dimensions the ideal engine for portable fire pumps. The Rotax 900 ACE provides in this configuration, a power of 48 KW at a low number of revolutions. The intuitive operation of the pump simplifies the work of the operator. The color display shows always the current status of the device and in the case of a malfunction, there is immediate feedback and suggestions for correct handling. In addition, the portable fire pump is equipped with an LED headlamp, and hence operation 24/7 is possible.
Solemnly revealed and presented to the public was the new FOX with the Rotax 900 ACE engine in the exhibition "Retter". Firefighters from all over Austria particpated in the event and had the opportunity to get information about the benefits of the new product.
