The euphoric response to the takeover by Bombardier is borne out. As well as developing new products, the Canadian owner also invests in modernization and expansion of the Gunskirchen site. Investments of 105 million Schillings in the construction of a fully-automated, computer-controlled warehouse and a further 8.5 million Schillings in the extension of the office building complete the first phase of modernization, which lasts many years. 3 ½ years of planning and building are eventually what it takes to deliver the desired clout and increased competitiveness.
