BRP-Rotax celebrates the opening of the state of the art Production Entrance Building (P.E.B.) in Gunskirchen

Gunskirchen, Austria, October 22, 2007:

BRP represented by its subsidiary BRP-Rotax has every reason to celebrate: The new P.E.B. Production Entrance Building has opened its doors and offers both a state-of-the art infrastructure that includes, among other things, a health and fitness center for Rotax employees as well as fulfils the requirements for an optimised “lean production system”.

The aesthetic glass building captivates both visitors and employees alike. The cosmopolitan flair is felt immediately upon entering the building. A creative film on the meaning of the P.E.B. ensures a successful introduction to the celebratory inauguration of the well-conceived multi-million euro project.

Honoured guests and speakers from Canada flew to Gunskirchen to take part in this symbolic act. Laurent Beaudoin, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and son-in-law of the founder of the global corporation BRP, Joseph Armand Bombardier and President José Boisjoli expressed their joy over the pioneering development of BRP-Rotax with humorous statements.

“There were three good reasons for acting,” Rotax Managing Director DI Gerd Ohrnberger explained the realization of the vision, “BRP-Rotax made a targeted, 2.5 million euro investment.”

The first issue for Rotax is the health of its employees: The new health and fitness center for all Rotax employees will be opened under the name “Doo it Plus” at the end of the year. The P.E.B. hall now boasts bright, friendly and attractively designed snack bars, ensuring a positive work environment and a general sense of well-being for the hard-working employees from production, as well as central changing and wash rooms that meet modern standards and - to provide adequate security as well - access-controlled entrances to the production area.

In order to meet the requirements placed on a “lean production system” that fulfils strict internal quality standards, the Tempstore vehicle entrance and exit are controlled by a one-way system; stacking machine drivers ensure the smooth distribution of materials.

The new Pilot Hall, or, as it were, the “breeding grounds for new motor production methods” is the inspiration for developing minute details more efficiently, testing them on site and later integrating optimized solutions in ongoing operations.

The premise here is that the future begins now - and BRP Rotax has in every way invested in the joy and satisfaction of work, continuous development and new perspectives.  Both inside and out, the P.E.B. symbolizes the open spirit of a global collaboration network.
