BRP AWARDED "WATERCRAFT OF THE YEAR" FOR SEA DOO RXP

Grant, FL, September 12, 2004 - Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) has been selected by Watercraft World magazine, to receive the coveted award of"Watercraft of the Year?" with the 2004 Sea Doo® RXPTM. This is the sixth time a Sea-Doo watercraft has won this award.

Watercraft World magazine's selection was based on three criteria: innovation, market appeal, and long -term impact on the industry.

"The success of the Sea-Doo RXP has been overwhelming," said Chris Dawson, vice president marketing North America, BRP.  "Consumers first cast their vote by making the RXP the best-selling watercraft in the world in 2004.  Now Watercraft World honours us with "Watercraft of the Year".  At BRP, product is king, so we could not be more proud of these achievements," he added.

The Sea-Doo RXP was the best selling watercraft in 2004 and the fact that it is the first two-passenger watercraft to accomplish this feat in over five-years proves the RXP is truly innovative. "It's rare for one PWC to dominate our Watercraft of the Year evaluations. But in no uncertain terms, (the) Sea-Doo RXP did just that," so stated the feature story "Muscle Bound" in the October 2004 issue of Watercraft World magazine. The story continued, "From the day we first saw it last summer, the RXP has been lobbying for PWC supremacy. To say it muscled the competition would be an understatement. To say it blew by the rest of the pack would be obvious."

The Sea-Doo RXP was cited as this year's "Watercraft of the Year" for more than just the incredible acceleration and strong top-speed the intercooled 215 HP supercharged engine package provides. With a muscle-car inspired design and features borrowed from two former "Watercraft of the Year" recipients, the Sea-Doo XPTM and RXTM, the RXP has clearly redefined the musclecraft.  The RXP also offers a host of features that other like watercraft don't, such as: reverse, O.P.A.S.TM (Off-Power Assisted Steering), removable engine access hatch, rear-seat cowling, closed-loop cooling, and many others.

The RXP also proved that four-stroke power can be quick and fast through the workings of an intercooled 215 HP supercharged 4-TECTM RotaxTM marine engine housed in an all-new hull and deck. The overwhelming consumer demand for the RXP leads the way to the 2005 Sea-Doo RXTTM, the first three-passenger watercraft with over 200 HP.  The RXT follows the same DNA as the RXP with its own musclecraft flair and will also be equipped with the intercooled 215 HP supercharged power-plant.
