The BRP-Rotax intellectual property patent experts support our engineers when applying for patents for innovations that make our products even more efficient and more powerful.

In its move to continuously improve the products to satisfy the needs of the customers and to comply with constantly aggravating regulations, BRP Rotax pushes the limits of technological innovation and realises the importance of protecting its intellectual property. Many registered patents, such as the well-known Rotax Adjustable Variable Exhaust (RAVE) or the unique Rotax Electronic Reverse (RER) to name a few, document these efforts. 

Patents and other industrial property rights are essential to succeed in international competition. They protect the ideas of the engineers against imitations and constitute valuable assets, which allows BRP-Rotax to generate licence royalties and trade with other market participants.

Thanks to a company-wide dedication to innovation and to the creation and protection of intellectual property, the number of patent filings has significantly increased over the last years.

Emphasis was given to protecting the innovations of the outstanding Rotax 4-TEC and 2-TEC advanced engines, which have been the subject of a number of patent applications all over the world.
